**Description**

As the founding full-stack engineer, you will be a major contributor to Curio’s first strategy game as well as many exciting tools that come with it.

**Responsibilities**

- Architecture and design reliable, high-throughput, low latency, and scalable server and networking systems that support Curio’s games.
- Build key components of the platform for players to create custom plugins.
- Perform load testing, participate in code reviews, write unit tests, and conduct troubleshooting.

**Qualifications**

- You are skilled in TypeScript frameworks such as React and Node, which powers our client and backend services. You understand JavaScript well and love web technologies.
- You are familiar with CSS.
- You care about maintaining a clean, readable, performant code-base but also understand when to prioritize speed over standardization.
- You can work across the entire stack (React, MongoDB, Node, Heroku, Netlify, Prisma) and take on new frameworks as we need them.
- You care about transparent communications.
- You can both be intellectually honest and critical of one’s ideas but also carry that with kindness.

**Bonus if …**

- You are familiar with PhaserJS, Unity, or Unreal Engine, or if you have previously worked at a game studio.
- You have 2+ years of engineering experience, 5+ years for senior level candidates.
- You are crypto-native and have experience with Solidity, Diamond standard, and/or Foundry.
- You have a deep understand of the Ethereum Virtual Machine and/or the major EVM rollup solutions.
- You have experience building protocols and APIs.
- You love strategy games.
