Enter EigenDA: Provisioning data availability is one of the key components for scaling blockchains, and specifically Layer2 rollups. EigenDA is a secure, high throughput, and decentralized data availability (DA) service built on top of Ethereum using the EigenLayer restaking primitive. Developed by EigenLabs, EigenDA will be the first actively validated service (AVS) to launch on EigenLayer. Restakers will be able to delegate stake to node operators performing validation tasks for EigenDA in exchange for service payments, and rollups will be able to post data to EigenDA in order to access lower transaction costs, higher transaction throughput, and secure composability across the EigenLayer ecosystem.

Your Role and Impact

• Dynamic Leadership: Lead and grow a team of engineers in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving startup environment.
• Technical Excellence: Oversee the development of multi-tenant distributed systems using Golang, C++, or similar technologies. Ensure architectural decisions support scalability, reliability, and security.
• Build High Performance Teams: Work with talent acquisition to hire top-tier engineers who align with EigenLabs\' culture and goals.
• Mentorship and Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Mentor engineers, helping them grow in their careers and contribute effectively to the team.
• Operational Management: Experience in implementing and operating large-scale infrastructure using public cloud and/or hosted infrastructure like AWS. Ensure systems are robust, economically viable, and can scale with the demands of a growing startup.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute a clear, agile roadmap. Adapt and respond quickly to the changing needs of the business.
• Quality Focus: Uphold high engineering standards and practices, ensuring that EigenDA not only meets but exceeds engineering SLAs.

Key Requirements

• 8+ years in software engineering with experience creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a minimum of 5 years in engineering management. Proven track record of mentoring and developing high performing engineering talent and teams.
• Demonstrated ability to actively collaborate with business stakeholders and counterparts, ensuring that engineering efforts are closely aligned with business goals. This includes regular communication and strategic planning to ensure that the engineering team\'s output supports and enhances the company\'s overall objectives
• Ability to lead by example and inspire their team to constantly seek ways to enhance our products and services, ensuring they not only meet but exceed customer expectations.
• Deep knowledge in developing and operating large-scale, distributed systems using Golang, C++, etc. Experience designing secure APIs using technologies such as gRPC, etc., and understanding their role in building scalable, efficient distributed systems.
• Proficient in implementing large scale systems built using public cloud (e.g., AWS, GCP) or traditional infrastructure. Experience with containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, maintaining focus on both the big picture and the minute details. Skilled in managing the software development lifecycle in an agile and efficient manner.
• Skilled in strategic planning and execution, with the ability to balance long-term objectives and short-term operational needs. Capacity to adapt strategies in response to evolving industry trends and company goals.

Preferred Qualities

• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the tech community
• Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced technology environment.
• Familiarity with blockchain technology and Ethereum platforms. 
• Advanced degree in a relevant field.
